I just did a build up of an E-revo with the new 1512 2d/f and I used Novak 5mm bore 32 pitch pinions. The stock spur is 68t and you can get the 65t and 62t to vary your gearing. I had to grind a flat spot on the end of the 5mm motor shaft to accept the pinion set screw. You will need an external bec with 4 cells and above or you can disable the positive wire from the esc to the rx and run an rx battery. I chose this route since I run a single servo and the 5 cell pack sits nicely in the empty servo bay and balances out the chassis up front. I run a shrouded 80mm 12v van over the motor and esc with 14.8 volts running to it blowing upwards with filter foam over the inlet to keep dirt out. I made a cradle from g10 fiber glass that looks something like a mini savage chassis with a ledge to hold the fan. It acts as a roll bar for the fan and esc. I shrouded every thing with curtains of rubber roofing membrane attached to the fan with velcro and the servo tray is vented under neath the esc tray for the air inlet. I t all sounds like over kill but this truck will be raced in dusty conditions and I am using the MM esc. This set up is giving me great temps at 120 degrees fo rthe esc, 110 for the motor and my batteries are barely getting past ambient air temps. I got the esc up to 150 on a very dusty slippery track on a 90 degree day with an unvented body so it works.
