Hey fellas,

Does anyone here know anything about these ESCs and motors from www.OKHobby.com, their Infinite line?

Their prices and specs seem pretty good to me.
Am kinda curious in the 160A ESC, 2-5s capable.

I did send them an e-mail a little while ago and this was the reply...

Hmm, never heard of them before- I bet Lutach could shedd some light though ( they seem to be a bit cagey about who their supplier is for the motors and escs ).

The big 2 pole motor looks interesting for $40: clicky.

And the 5496 motor for $90 is a monster...

Their outrunner motors ARE patterned after Scorpion Outrunners. I would put my money on THAT supplier.

Compare them to these motors and you'll see.

I noticed the large motors also. It's a bit sad they are 2 pole.

They look very familiar, but those pictures were taken from the Orion ESCs. I haven't gone to the Novatech website and they look like their system. The 5th scale ESC might be shady though as there are only a hand full of companies that are making 10S esc for cars. You know someone will get those and test them out and I'll be waiting for their results. The 10th scale stuff looks like the Weigo units.

I just ordered the INFINITE C4363-1860 motor to try out in my buggy. I was surprised to see that the 43mm motors are 4-pole, so figured I'd take a chance. It's basically the same dimensions and kv as my current Neu 1512. Shipping wasn't too expensive (~$7 for air mail, ~$16 for EMS) and they let you declare a value and how the package will be labeled (gift, hobby parts, etc.)

The 1/8th conversion kits on that site look alot like the ones Kershaw has on his site. And that 1/5 scale motor he's getting (talked about in another thread) has the same 54/96mm dimensions as one on this site, for $60 cheaper too.

I received mine today for my stampede

im geared for about 34.91 mph and with the tires ballooning factor maybe around 40mph on 2s lipo and after a 4000mah pack about 15 to 20min of mix runtime ( grass , dirt , tarmac ) the motor temp was about 160f I run proline mashers 2k 4.75" of diameters and my stampede diff has the lsd washer mod.. I find the temps a bit high and the outside temp was only 48f..

possible the motor are too high kv for the stampede ?

do the diff washer mod can affect motor temps ?

Here are some pics of the INFINITE motor I received today. 43mm diameter and 63mm long, 1860kv. Most of the INFINITE line seem to be 2 pole, but the 43mm series are 4 pole, and that is why I wanted to try this. The size and kv are almost identical to the Neu 1512 I have in my buggy right now.

First impressions seem pretty good. Construction feels solid, not much play in the rotor. The both endbells are secured with screws. I tried to open it up to inspect the rotor, but with the screws removed the endbells still wouldn't budge. I would guess they are either epoxied on, threaded on, or just a really tight fit, I didn't spend much time trying, so maybe I will try more to open it later.

The front endbell allows the use of 3mm or 4mm mounting screws. The wires exiting the rear endbell are extensions of the windings, just like a Neu. You can see they are much longer than Neu leads, so I will probably shorten them. IMO it would have been a better idea to use silicone wire like a Castle motor if they wanted to make the leads that long.

The rotor has the distinct "notchy" feel when turned by hand. I would say the magnet strength feels equivalent to a Neu 1512, maybe a little less, but I will have to try turning both by hand together to get a better comparison.

Hoping to be able to run this in the next few days. Shortening the leads might be a chore, if you know a good way to remove the enamel coating from the winding leads post here or send me a PM. I'll update more once I get a chance to run the motor.

Be careful doing that. If they truly are extensions of the coil wires, they will have an insulating varnish coating that will be almost impossible to solder. You will need to clean each strand and/or use some type of solvent to remove the varnish.

Why not run it like it is? Just secure the wires well with ties to minimize vibration. They should last a long time that way.

Then if there's trouble, (breakage) perfect your wire shortening skills.

How much was shipping on that bad boy?

I might leave them long, have to look and see where I would have to remount the MMP to make the wiring work, probably on a shelf behind the center diff.

I kind of figured the pics they used were just generic place-holder pics, since every single motor used the same one.

I used standard shipping, which was around $7 and I think EMS Express was around $16. With the standard shipping it was ~$54 shipped to my door.

Any update on the 4-pole motors?

Im curious (as you've already seen and commented on) if they could power a Savage X/XL conversion without loads of heavy after market parts and 40 serie wheels. The 4-polers (4363) almost have the same dimensions as the old Hobbywing 4465 motor... and that guy have no problem powering a Savage conversion.
