Here are some pics of the INFINITE motor I received today. 43mm diameter and 63mm long, 1860kv. Most of the INFINITE line seem to be 2 pole, but the 43mm series are 4 pole, and that is why I wanted to try this. The size and kv are almost identical to the Neu 1512 I have in my buggy right now.

First impressions seem pretty good. Construction feels solid, not much play in the rotor. The both endbells are secured with screws. I tried to open it up to inspect the rotor, but with the screws removed the endbells still wouldn't budge. I would guess they are either epoxied on, threaded on, or just a really tight fit, I didn't spend much time trying, so maybe I will try more to open it later.

The front endbell allows the use of 3mm or 4mm mounting screws. The wires exiting the rear endbell are extensions of the windings, just like a Neu. You can see they are much longer than Neu leads, so I will probably shorten them. IMO it would have been a better idea to use silicone wire like a Castle motor if they wanted to make the leads that long.

The rotor has the distinct "notchy" feel when turned by hand. I would say the magnet strength feels equivalent to a Neu 1512, maybe a little less, but I will have to try turning both by hand together to get a better comparison.

Hoping to be able to run this in the next few days. Shortening the leads might be a chore, if you know a good way to remove the enamel coating from the winding leads post here or send me a PM. I'll update more once I get a chance to run the motor.

Be careful doing that. If they truly are extensions of the coil wires, they will have an insulating varnish coating that will be almost impossible to solder. You will need to clean each strand and/or use some type of solvent to remove the varnish.

Why not run it like it is? Just secure the wires well with ties to minimize vibration. They should last a long time that way.

Then if there's trouble, (breakage) perfect your wire shortening skills.

Those pictures don't look like the advertised pictures. hmmm..........looks good though.

How much was shipping on that bad boy?

Looks exactly like the Orion motor that comes in the Kyosho Inferno VE. Even the wires are the same.
Just no logos....


I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...
