Ouch, diggin' how that one guy just rides through the grass like it's nothin'
I had a question for you bikers... or whatever you call yourselves
My friend and I "bike" or hills, or at least, we try to, for a workout.. (You see, our workout is likely to your warmup..)
Anyways, I had a tire blow out (rear wheel; this is on a 16+ y/o road bike... I think.) and completely shredded the tube and tread. You see, the tire treads were well, gone. The rubber is more of a "is that tape!?" kind of rubber, so thin...
Anyways, I took it over to a LBS, and forked over $35 bucks to get a new tire and tube ($12.99 for the tire, 7.99 for the tube, and 8 for labor). I know I know, what a rip.
But hey, at least I got a new tire, would've never convinced my dad that we would need a new tire...
We previously bought tubes for ~$5, and never touched the tire (probably why this blew).
Anyways, are most of the bikers using regular air tubes?
I saw some "No-Moar-Flat" tubes in wallyworld, where they're filled with green slime, so they wouldn't pop, nor go flat from nails and such.. Has anyone had any experience with these? I tend to like going in the dirt, where theres nice sharp pieces of glass and such lying under the dirt, unknowingly riding over it, and having to spend an hour patching the fifty holes..
Anyways, comparison of the slimed tubes and the air'd ones?
