buy RPM front and rear bumpers for your maxx. they are lightweight, totally indestructible (i really mean this, broken every thing except these bumpers) and look cool.
use the stock bumper mounts. also, when you are tightening the screws for the mounts, tighten them up then loosen them by 1/4 to 3/4 turn back. this will ensure that the mounts flex during an impact. if your using aluminium bulkhead braces, use loctite on the screws to set this position.

I agree with biddy but I went with the rpm a arms all around, full skid plates, front and rear shock towers ( the only thing bad about them is only one shock mounting position one them compared to the 3 on the stock ) and also the bumpers and bulkhead braces
