Stock tranny works quite well, motor sits lower, uses a solid slipper, and is easier to find parts since you use more stock parts. You also have several options for two speed use depending on what you want. My first Revo used a maxx tranny and I didn't like it as much. The only weak spot I've seen is the little pins that hold the gears to the shafts inside. But a little modding and the use of Jato pins instead fixed that and haven't had issues since.
