What are the pro's and con's of running a beefed E-Maxx single speed transmission with a BL set-up in a Revo chassis?

I mostly would like to know about the set-up's, strength's & weaknesses. Personal preference ?? I see quite a few E-Revo's going the E-Maxx tranny route. Type of braking plays a big part too I imagine. Slippers?

I'm not really concerned with the battery mounting/balance issue because I know they both will work well.

Doug, what do you mean by " beefed up E-Maxx Tranny " what should we do to beef up a E-maxx tranny?

I'am to build my e-revo with stock revo tranny, and use the 2 speed with the FOC.
My motor will be a feigao 12L runing on 4s li-po with the MM controller.

I do the Jato ppin mod on the tranny and use RD racing aluminium diff cup.

Gear 18/38 with wide ratio and proline badland MT tires.

The only thing that i don't trust on my setup is the fact that i'll keep the 2 speed. Don't know if the pin in the second speed gear will hold the brushless power when the tranny shift in secong gear. I'll run with a loose sliper, but as soon as the 2 speed will break, i'll:

-Put the Robinson racing hardened steel tranny gear OR
-Lock the tranny in second gear and order a feigao 9XL motor.

Both option cost about the same $$$

They have 2 gear in the tranny who hold on the shaft by a little pin, and this pin break easily with powerfull motors.
By using the larger jato outdrive pin (the one holding the yoke to the diff output), this solve this breaking problem, but you have to enlarge the hole on the shaft and the one on the gear. Not a big deal.

So when I open the Emaxx tranny I'll see this pin on the shaft through the gear? just drill it out to a larger size and put in a larger pin?

Basically going single speed and replacing the stock idler gear. Pin mod the e-maxx input shaft.

I just pulled out and opened my Emaxx Tranny I see 2 metal gears inside on the input shaft with small split pins which is the pin I must replace for single speed? and how can I do the single speed mod. Thanks for the help.
