...the chassis is actually quite long...Almost big enough to take a Hellfire stock body...Too long for the E-Sav but probably good for the GP conversion...

...The drivetrain will take what you throw at it for sure...Especially when mated with the GP front and rear diffs...

...You can read ALL about the E-Savage at, surprise surprise, E-Savage.com

EDIT: Here is one shot of the original extended chassis...These are EP diffs front and rear, NOT the GP diffs like the chassis we are talking about...Gives you an idea though...

It they only sold battery trays to go with it. The conversion would be so simple.

I have some battery trays from my Kershaw BL conversion kit, I'd like to get rid of the 2 speed tho its so heavy. Maybe a centre diff setup?

...battery trays are too easy...i just use some folded 1mm alloy sheet...plans and everything up at E-Savage.com...I mean the EP crowd has been borrowing ideas from the GP scene (RE: the E-Savage) for ages so maybe its time we paid something back...

MTBTIM:::Thanks mate...You can see my WHOLE gallery with this link...Might be something you like ;)

hi

let me see if i got this right. this chassis above will take the normal gp axles of the savage. doing this will bring us in the weight range of the usual gp to ep converted savages, which is about 2-4 pounds more than the e savage.
so then i should put a e savage center gear box in there instead of a modified savage gp center gear box right? this center e savage gear box has plastic gears and is designed to transfer the power of two 550 brushed motors in a light 9 pound e savage. and now it should transfer the power of BL setup for a converted gp savage, that weights about 50% more and is equipped with a big neu and 16 cells or the like?

wouldn't the e savage center gear box then be clearly the weak spot in the whole tranny?

i might be wrong but and one could try it but i would be very positively surprised if this works.

bye

Hi Rhylsader;

Jamie designed this chassis so it would accept a good ol' savage front and rear end or the e-savage front/rear end. It only requires a e-savage gearbox. (they are surprisingly beefy btw, they use a 32 pitch gear which is about twice the width of an e-maxx 32p spur.

hi serum

yeah sounds interesting. i am not worried with the 32pitch but the gears in the box. so anybody already tested an e savage center gear box with a BL set that is common in converted gp savys?

bye

Jamie, the owner of fastlanemachine used this with a savage front/rear end and the e-savage gearbox, with a 7XL and 4S lipo. Not the most powerfull setup, but way stronger than the stock dual engine.it held up fine with his

To be honest, i share your idea on the e-savage gearbox.
