Oh fiberglassis pretty strong while being like 35% lighter than alu. I actually find it easier to bend 60 aluminum than breaking fiberglass. There's a reason why it's being used for jump boards ;)

The only thing I don't like about it: it's urine-yellow color! I've seen it colored black but I got no idea how to DIY...

Guys I like what you have done to the LST. LST's and savages can take some serious punishment when it comes to bashing. Someone should manufacture those plates. It wouldn't be expensive to make.

i've asked the guy who owns DUH! Engineering if he could make a plate similar to mickeymoose's, only in titanium. so it'll hold an e-maxx transmission. we'll see what he says.

i don't have an LST2, but am seriously thinking of getting one to convert. great job getter and mickeymoose!

BTW: How did you make those plates with such a precision? Do you own a CNC?

I have some limited access to a manual milling machine, but my buddy is a machinist, and he did all the cutouts(including the shape of both plates) on a cnc EDM machine. I then drilled all the apropriate holes, and cut the battery trays out of an E-Maxx chassis on the mill. If Monster Mike is interested I would be willing to work with him on these. sent him an e-mail awhile ago about it but got no reply. I know he is a very busy man though.

I got my LST yesterday and it's in really good condition. I removed all the electronics, gas tank and tranny. Won't be needing any of that stuff. It's amazing what a little WD40 and Simple Green will do. I now have so many projects I don't know where to start. I still have to finish my Alum. Maxx project too. I can't even see my workbench anymore.

I feel your pain. I have an 800sq/ft room filled with rc stuff and I just spin around with my eyes closed and point to what will get modded next!!!

I just made myself a complete A-Arm pin set out of a 1 meter tall carbon fiber rod. Is carbon fiber okay for A-Arm pins or will my pins break fast?

I guess it all depends on the quality of the CF. Seems to work for these guys.

Well the rod was from my lhs, the brand is eolo-sport
I don't think anyone knows this brand so I should rather go to a skte park and test the pins...

Thanks JB3231. I'm still trying to decide on the ESC for this.

What was the setup on yours? Motor? ESC?

Finally got a couple pics of my latest LST2 conversion that I've been running at my local track. It's got a 9Xl / MM combo on 4s MaxAmps 6000mah batts I switched to an MGT slipper for mod1 gears and I'm running 15/49 gearing. I have fans on everything, and while I'd prefer not using them, they do keep everything cool.
