Yeah your right, it is 7.4v. I was using what a maxx charge limit goes to. I think all lipos are rated at 4.2v maxx per cell. My 2s2p's come off the charger at 8.32v the way I have it set. So I was using what the Maxx could be for the Lipo setup.
Thanks for the kick in the rear Neil. Don't know what I was thinking. I got other parts I need to get with that money and the 4.5 does work well. I don't want to mess with setting all that up right now either. Just drop the HV in and off it goes. Back on track now.....

You are correct, but don't forget that lipos don't stay at 4.2v very long at all once you start running. It's best to use the nominal voltage value when calculating anything since that will represent the voltage the pack is at for the majority of the time. Just like you wouldn't use the off-the-charger voltage of about 1.4v/cell for NiMHs...

I didn't know that, but won't forget it now. Thanks Brian for sharing it. Anytime you want to pass some of your knowledge and experience this way. I'll take it.

What will the larger shaft/rotor do for the Novak setup?

No problem.

A larger shaft will be harder to break. Depending on how you drive and the amount of chassis/motor mount flexing, you can get some pretty decent lateral forces on the pinion, which could snap if using an 1/8" shaft.

A larger rotor allows for larger/stronger magnets. But, if I read NovakTwo's post correctly, the rotor won't get bigger, just the shaft.

We're developing this rotor in conjunction with Bob's new 8th scale conversion kits. He's done most of the testing with the existing rotor, but he's not as hard on the equipment as some customers.

I'l check with the design team about the rotor size and also the material used. I'm assuming that the new rotors will be made from the higher temp material we use in the new tuning rotors.
