stupid early dark hasn't let me drive it really yet, but from running under the driveway lights, its going to be sweet

i have a rc monster heatsink clamp on order, and the only thing left is watching out for balance. if it seems off a little, i'll remove the handle so i can lay the forward battery pack down on its side. if it is still a little off, i'll look into flipping around the motor and having both packs on the rear.

How are the diffs holding up? That's been my only problem with my MT2.

i'm not sure yet. i just got a good motor today, first one was doa. with the time changed back to normal, its dark when i get home from work. i did punch it in the living room on carpet(max tire traction) and it literly flew upside down and lawn darted the rearend into my couch about 5ft away. i didn't hear any gear strain with that, or the 5 or 6 times afterwards.

It looks good. My old MT2 had the same layout with 4s2p emoli cells.

Metalman, do you have the 18SS diffs on your MT2? Those diffs are a lot stronger than the stock MT2 ones. I never had any problems with my 18SS diffs with a 9L on the above-mentioned emolis.

Yep, I have the full 18SS kit. I have no problem skipping the diffs, but if I take it easy they won't skip. The gears look perfect, and there are no metal shavings in the diff case. I did just receive some aluminum diff housings for the front and rear though...

Just for comparison (to cart213's MT2 and tashpop's LS10), my MT2 is running a Feigao 9L and 4s2p A123 through a MM.

how are you motor temps with that setup. i went with the 10L to match my voltage to below 36k rpm out of the motor. i've read numerous times that above that and these motors start to heat up.

Metalman, I forgot that I was using aluminum housings for my diffs, too. That's why I wasn't having any diff problems, lol!

Haven't driven for more than about 5mins due to diff disappointment.

I am running an 8L and 3s2p a123 on my Stadium 10 and its crazy powerfull. 4s will be nuts! Ive had no diff issues at all.

Its actually a great handeling little truck IMO. Your looks nice. Good job. I am running motor front opposite the servo and the 2 packs in the rear. Do you have any closer pictures of your motor mount. I cant quite make out how you did yours. Mine is just a piece of L aluminum screwed to the chassis.

I've owned 5 brushless trucks, and the 9L MT2 was the fastest of all. I gps'd it at 60mph. Lots of fun!

Yep, gotta love 4wd 1/10! Throw in a Feigao L motor, and you're set! When the diffs are set up right, these trucks will run for a long time, at very high speeds, with minimal heat. It's not as much fun as BL 1/8, but for the price it gets the job done.

i don't have any closer pics, but i made an L bracket and notched it where the stock nitro motor mount screws went through the chassie. i then used the stock nitro mounts to clamp down my mount. i did this because i was in a hurry and its what i had. the nice thing about it is the the mounts because they stick up, also sandwhich the motor inplace.

wait, maybe you can get a better idea from my first pic i posted in another thread.

holy cow, you got that off of your 4s packs? did the temp seem happy with your gearing? i still haven't had a chance to open mine up, but tomorrow morning its on. i did jump my ditch once when i got home and it landed upside down. i was running with the body off because i'm still feeling things out, and i sheared one of the front body mounts

. it looks like i have to replace the whole shock tower, am i just looking at it wrong? i didn't really check it out too closely.

just an update. the truck is awsome. i needed to bring the gearing up a bit, but since i needed to replace the stock tires, i just got some mashers and killed two birds with one stone. that did alot for this truck. it has proven to be very tuff for a while now, until recently. i accidently discovered that from a dead stop to around 5-7mph and deep throtle jab will yeild a complete flip over back onto the tires consistanly with every attempt. being the first truck i had that would do this, i kept on doing it over and over. eventually, i got a striped wheel and hex, and bent rear dogbone out of the deal. also the slipper seems to have loosed up alot and isn't powering the front drive axle at all. but the good news is the diffs are holding. i thought they would be the first to give. i'm going to try to get a vid if i can get one out of my digital camera. i never tried to figure out video on it.

This is actually pretty inspiring, a smaller brushless vehicle that's quite a bit more affordable than some of the other big MGM/Neu conversions. I like that you only need 3 or 4s A123, and that the MM controller works fine with the 8 or 9L......both are readily availible too. I'm gonna have to look into this some more, seems really promising right now.
