Yes, it removes total weight and a more important thing: the tranny that is rotating mass.

The best configuration for outrunners in my opinion is start power high and timing highest. A high timing is very important for more than 2 poles motors and the MT Dragon is a 12 poler.

Tomorrow I will try the motor with a Quark 125 and a Schulze 18.149.
