Right now, I just want them to work, because nothing else on the market would suffice.
No I got them directly from MGM, but I thought that this forum would be the best place to post about it since, I like RC-Monster and Mike sells MGM I just want to share my experience

Yes it was a stick nothing else was available, I mean the wheel radio was not out back then and yes it was olive green with a silver handle bar on top .... man you had the same radio ... dude don't tell that you were born in 73 ... hehehe
The worst thing about that car was the resistor, you remember the white stone like block with a sliver heat sink that did not even touch the resistor .. hehehe .. and the gears used to break like every day and it was a pain in the behind to fix .. hehehe … but still I had so much fun with that R/C …. Ohh a friend of mine still has his grasshopper from back then.

You are right...nothing else on the market will suffice. Sad thing is that all the companies that make good HV ESCs are outside the U.S. It amazes me that a small company in the Czech Republic is our best source of HV electronics.
Now I am going to vent on all the non hack companies that can't seem to hang The AMERICAN companies are getting their just deserts. How in hell did we manage to put a man on the moon, win two world wars, and win the cold war? . As far as I am concerned this is simply laziness on their part...that the best they (and they know who 'they' are) can come up with is a 12 or 14 cell ESC. Better cowboy up and get with the program folks...its a complete disgrace. Please take a little pride in what you do...and at least catch up with the competition.

I have tried my best to make up their minds, but I think they see more money from the Birds and Fish. I can run, but I can't fly nor swim (RC wise) . I'm trying to get an HV controller made, but I have to rely on folks that told me they could do it, but now I feel like crap mainly because I have nothing to offer for now.

When you offer it...I'll buy one....and don't feel like crap...you are freelance.
I am talking about "big American" companies who are supposed to be leaders in the RC industry. However, when they hear ticked off customers venting they say "but we are just a small company that started 15 years ago at our kitchen table" or "you can't set a deadline for something that hasn't been invented yet." Okay...the quotes may not be exact but they are close...closer than they are to HV. Anyway, they should pull the ads from all the RC mags because they are not leaders...they are currently followers.

Truly amazing ... you are absolutely right .. The first thing one should learn in business is to have a niche and I guess a lot of those companies are just lagging behind …. And it goes beyond that, I mean one of the most important things to me that makes the US of A so great is “Choice” in all shapes and sizes … in this case we need options .. I want to go into a LHS and see a verity of ESC that can handle the intended use.

I sent mine 16018 back and they emailed me as soon as they got it, which was great. The way I look at it, is that we have to keep sending them back. If there is a weakness in their product they need to know about it and fix it. One way is for them to see a common problems. Their controllers are great imo.
Plus, I have had a problem with every ESC I have owned, even my traxxas vxl esc. I just had to solder the plugs better onto the board. After months of that controller stopping for no reason, it turned out to be loose plugs!! I even sent it back, which they found nothing wrong, since it was hard to reproduce. I am calling them though, they need to know those plugs were loose. The solder job was bad, if others are like that, it would not take much to loosen them.

Hey Wildman,
My settings are the default settings, except I switched to 5 Lipo for the battery setting. I will tell you this...unbeknownst to me...when I plugged into the USB interface, the software automatically returned my controller to default settings...to include setting it back to 2-pole motor mode. This took me about an hour to figure out why the controller wouldn't work after I checked my settings. I went thru the initial setup about four or five times and the controller would just sit there and beep. Well, I went back to the USB and noticed that it was in 2-pole motor mode-bingo. I set it back to 4-pole mode (for Neu motors are 4-pole motors) and went back thru the setup procedure and everything works fine now--whew!!!!!! Quite a scare I had there. You can see the video of my maiden run if you goto my picasa link http://picasaweb.google.com/ssspconc...36201234213570

UPDATE:
After I e-mailed Martin, I got a call back from him (That was nice) and he said no matter what the case is, they will fix it ... and that it will not take too long to do so.
He will be needing the ESC and the motor being used, which I will FedEx to him ASAP.
ohh, and if the problem is from the ESC and not the setup they will fix it at no additional cost (under warranty) ...
The good thing is that $800 will not be a total waste and the fact that they want to see the ESC and motor, indicates that even if the problem is form the ESC, they want to understand why!
I will keep you guys posted.
Az
EDIT: SO far MGM Compro customer service is an A rated
