11XL seems pretty hot for 9S. 16XL would be closer to what I'd put in there. Man, think of the runtime, yowza. HV ESCs (affordable ones at least!) can't come soon enough for me.

I agree with Sleebus. Also, the runtime would be insane!

Ok Keep in mind 9s a123 is really like a 7-8S Lipo.

My setup 6s setup is identical voltage as a 5s Lipo.

A123 are 2300MAH packs. By going to 9s I should get a 33.333% increase in run time.
33.3 % higher voltage also.

My running style is kinda hard to use for total run time.. (Just bashing) I will tell you that my wife runs stock with 3300 MAH (6 cell NMHI packs) I run faster, and harder then her but only outlast her run time by 1 min or so. I would guess it is around 12-15 min of run time.

So the 9s pack should be around 15-20 Min of run time.

My setup is 6s1p A123 20/66 gearing. on a 9XL with BK warrior controller.

I am fast but not unbeleiveable. Maybe a 12xl would be a better motor choice.

32 Volts * 1251 = about 40,000 RPM's

1 9s1p pack is good for about 50 amps * 32 volts = 1600 watts of power at WOT
1 6s1p pack is good for about 50 amps * 21 volts = 1050 watts of power at WOT

I am sure there is heavy voltage drop so I would suggest figuring down 10%-20% in the real world.

Derr, I saw you mention LiPo in your post, and I thought you were running LiPo, not A123. Whups. Yeah, 9S, figure a 3v drop under load, 12XL sounds good.

Schulze works good with the Neu motors. Schulze also works good with Mega motors. Schulze likes me I think.

The KB45-08L has a 6mm shaft - so you would need to get it down to 5mm

a Feigao with the same kv will cost the same - if they are shipping again :(

I would check here. R/C Calculations (brian's calculator). I would think 5s be a tad bit better with the 1.5d

I would think the 2s2p's 8000mah would be better packs as well.

I think that is a tricky question to be asked. Alot depends on performance you want.

I personally find 1000watts to be a good starting point. Others will tell you more or less.

5s= 18
6s= 22

1000/ 5s = 55amps
1000/6s = 45 amps

now if you want a 2000watt monster.. just double the amps.
