Dang, looks like I might have to get another motor after all. I have a 6s NeuEnergy battery and I don't think the 2200kv motor will like that. Unless I like my motors to cook bacon and my truggy to go 80mph.

This should work out fine for me then as I already have my Neu motor, its a 1512 2.5D. I believe that is rated at 2000kv??

Any estimates on street price for just the ESC?

Why couldn't you just use the castle software and slow the motor down. but keep the volts?
Or couldn't you use some radio programing and set your end points down, and change your throttle expo (I have a nomadio sensor, but I think the spektrum can do the same thing.

Then you could keep your batteriers and motor, just not using their "full potential"

Ok...I'll try to answer this barrage of ?'s. Here goes.

lutach...we have tried this in up to 14lb vehicles. We are discussing a 1521 series motor for larger/heavier vehicles such as the LST2, etc.

Sower...gear down. ;)

Cain...no estimates on separate components at this time. That'll probably be figured out just prior to release.

ssspconcepts...we are still shooting for March, but are presently waiting for things that are out of our hands. This obviously affects the release date.

Do you have data from the tests? Any reading from a DPR or Eagle Tree?

Well, that's the thing, for best efficiency I want to keep the motor in a certain RPM range. The 1500kv was the best for my calcs based on the gearing and 6s batt. We'll see though. The "gear down" idea sounds good, but I don't know that it will be what I'm after. Don't know that I could find a small enough pinion. 9t is the smallest I know of - maybe I could find a 4t.

Sower...you can limit the endpoints but be careful when doing that. The ESC is working much harder at partial throttle than at full. And I feel you on the 1550...

One more question...what series of Neu is the motor? 1515 or 1512? or other? Sorry if I missed it in an earlier posting...

The LST2 was used with the trasnmission right? Have you guys tested with any direct drive heavy truck? Sorry about all the questions, but it's been inside my head and it's slowly leaking out. A good test would be a heavy truck with a direct drive instead of the usual tranny. If in the future there is a 1/8 scale electric class, most people will use the conversions with direct drives. I have designed 3 chassis and I sent the drwaings to Mike and he said they will be doable. They will be big though and meant for the larger motors.
