RS4 Pro 2 with 2-speed transmission and 24 inch rims LOL - 02.25.2008, 06:27 PM

Hi all,

Here are a few pictures of my RS4 Pro 2 with 2-speed transmission and 24 inch rims (RC scale of course). I will stuff one of my Hacker B50 in it and hope for the best. I stripped the set screw and I still have my old brushed set up in it. I hope you all like it.

Thats a nice setup! Does the Pro2 still use the ball diffs? The ones in my RS4 pro did not care much for brushless power.

I just gave my RS4 Pro w/mamba 7700 to a good friend of mine for Christmas (I'm not sure why) but I kind of miss it now so maybe time to build a new TC.

Be sure to post a video of melting those drift tires off when you get the Hacker installed.

Mine has the ball diffs. I had the Hacker in there, but I didn't have much option for ESC. I was using a Kontronik Beat 70 Car and the motor was too much for it. I then got a Hacker Master 70-3p opto and with no brakes it was scary to drive fast. The car handled the brushless well. Now the Hacker is back in the car and I'm going to use my VXL controller. All I need to do is solder some connectors to the motor and add a servo. Forgot to mention that the tires are not drift tires. They are from a Super RS4. I also have foams that were made for the Super RS4 as well.

How much ground clearance do you get (or gain) with that set up? I was thinking of trying the super rs4 tires on my rs4.

I got a 6mm gain. With the normal wheel/tire combo it was 5mm and now it's 11mm. The foams for the Super RS4 is a bit taller than the slick on the car now.

I was going with the Hacker B50-6S, but it was just too fast so I decided to go with the B50-8S. I just finished adjusting 2-speed. The VXL ESC seems to be working good with the Hacker.

RS4 2-Speed going back in the basement. I have no clue what went wrong, but second gear fried. Everything was going good with the adjustments, but after I mounted the ESC, battery and receiver, I hooked the ESC to the motor gave it some throttle and found that some how the second speed spur gear was bent. Now I can't even take ot the clutch as the system doesn't move like before.
