Have you tried running in High power brushed mode? It may help.. you loose reverse though.
My mate had the same problem with his mlst2 but they replaced his esc.

Wow and your an Aussie too! I thought they only cared about their main customer base in the states Well I'm never buying Losi again now anyway, not that it matters to them. So far its HPI and Losi that don't see to give a sh!t about their customers...
