There is a Jato Forum area in the main Forum menu. You might look there for more info. Most peoples opinions, mine included, is to sell the Jato and buy a 4 wheel drive setup. maybe the CRT .5. They are selling for about the same as the Jato on Ebay. But so times you just want to build something. I did with the Jato. I would shoot for a motor with about 3200kv or around there. Plenty of speed and torque. I only run MM's so far and they are a good solid cheap ESC. My set up was Lehner 1920\7 with a MM on 3s2p 8000 mAh lipos. It was nice but way to fast to control. At about 53 mph the front end was so light it would lift off the ground. No control with only 2 wheels on the ground. Just my 2 cents.

Well color me stupid... there is a Jato section. I must be blind. I agree how the Jato will be uncontrollable... My Rustler VXL is ridiculously the same way and at 52mph on radar, I simply couldn't get it any faster because everytime I'd gently pull the trigger, the car would wheelie up even more. That was on about a just about an 1/8+ mile strip.

Anyway, thanks for the opinion and correct forum section.

Mark

Would a mod mind moving this thread to the Jato section please?

Thanks.

Mark

I hear ya there. I had to run a 19 tooth pinion to be able to use the full throddle. That kept it at 48 mph. There really is nothing you can do to stop the front end from coming up. Might just be me but I think it has a lot to do with the air flow going under the body. I had a rustler that I put a bandit body on with the same set up except the motor was a lehner 3100. The gearing was messed up but I just wanted to do a speed run. I only got one run out of it. I am not sure what the speed was but it was moving. I had it way out away from me coming in. As it got closer it started to slow down and stopped all together and something smelled like buring wires. I walked over to it and poped the body off. Every solder joint from the battery to the ESC have undone itself. Thats some heat. Airflow is good for something I guess.
