I've found that the XT8 is, in a word - finicky - on the track. There are tons of adjustment options, probably too many for someone who isn't into tinkering and adjusting.

I've noticed my CRT to be extremely tough. I ran it into a basketball pole today, the only carnage was I broke my front buggy bumper into pieces. It was 45* out though, and I hit it at about 15-20MPH.

1/8 scale is awesome no matter what, IMO. I like the styling of the 8IGHT-T, but have never liked the Losi design, function, or hardware selection. I'll always be an AE fan. I can't wait for the RC8T. I think with some work you could make your own out of TTR ST-1 parts. I might have to do that some day...
