Polyquest Twenty Five 6000mAh - 04.05.2008, 09:18 AM

Hello,

Does anyone have an opinion on the "new" 25c Polyquest 6000mAh LiPo's?
I just saw them on the HobbyLobby site (http://www.hobby-lobby.com/polyquest.htm).

I'm running two 4900's to make one 4s pack now and I just don't have enough runtime to make a 15 minute main with warm up and really going for it. I'm thinking that with that extra 1100mAh I just may make it but I've not read much on Polyquest.

Thanks.

Well, Polyquest are made with enerland cells, so the packs should be comparable to flightpower, polyrc, etc. I am sure they are good packs, and worth the money.

Someone else who has run that pack may chime in.

Can't comment on the 6k but I run the 5k version. Get probably 20 minutes of runtime with a 95amp motor. You must be pulling tons of amps for such short runtime?

Yeah, I've been using one of those mystery Fine Design XLT-1's. I gather they are very inefficient. Once the MMM comes out I plan to switch to a Neu but I'm just not sold on the idea that the motor alone will make that much difference. I only use my truck for racing so it's run quite hard, regardless I'd say 12 minutes maximum is my run time from full charge to a save LVC. If I milk it, I may be able to get to 15 but I've only done it once or twice and I babied it around the track.

12-15 minutes is what most guys I race with get as well, from 4s 4900mah in truggys. 1100mah's would probably get another 3 minsutes or so.

3 Minutes would do it...I figure that and a Nue and I should be able to finish those Nitro 15 Min mains.

I had one of the 4S 4900mah 25C packs. I got from my hard running about 15 - 20 minutes of runtime in an MBX5 with some Type R parts combined with a 1512 2.5D motor. When being more fluid with my driving, I could do more than 20 minutes

I think a lot of it depends on your driving style too. I am more of an on-power driver and power around the track, doing this though especially on winter tracks here (slick, hard) causes wheel spin pretty bad and burns up runtime.

For me, I am looking into doing the PQ6000XP 25C, either 4S or 3S depending on some info I receive. As I could do 20 minutes with a maxamps 6000mah, and guys always comment on how much more efficient the 5000mah 4S is than the maxamps 6000mah, I believe I should easily do 20 minutes and more. (baddassrevo gets 25 - 30 minutes on his 8ight with a PQ5000XP pack).

Drop me a PM if you are still looking for a place to order them from.

There is a difference, believe me. I run a 9XL fegaio in a Gmaxx with slipperential and a Neu 1515/2.5d(1700kv) In my G2R. While they compare in speed, thats all they compare in. The efficiency of the neu is so good you will never worry about heat, KV to KV between neu's and fegaio's. The neu is about 2.5 times the price, But i think you get three times the motor with the Neu

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise
