Mike can get you the IB3800's for a nice price as well.. They are slightly better than the 3300's..

Thanks for the replies. I'm not selecting the 8L, it's coming with this RC lot deal. It should be enough untill I get the moolah to upgrade to a better motor.

Nice truck Serum! FLM gear is cool hey. :) Are you getting skid plates? If not, what will be holding the hinge pins in? Or protecting the diffs?

Also just on that motor mount design on the other page...was it hard to make/take long? Does it fit well? Does it hold up/work well?

Just a few general questions...should the stock mechanical brake setup be removed or better kept? What are the benifits of running or not running it?

I have a few more questions which I'll ask later. Thanks.

If you run the two speed super freak. You will need the brake. If you run the single locked tranny and the brake it will be just easier on contoller. I hope this helps some.

no, with a lock you don't need the brake.

@freak;

i made my own skidplate, i use titanium hingepins, with e-clips. the upper pins are held in place with a well placed little screw.. ;)

I'm not very familiar with the savage, but i live about an hour away from Superfreak, so plan to convert one also later on...

hmm - about the locked gear thing....
I have heard of some ppl locking out 1st and others locking out 2nd... - does this just depend on the elec setup (motor/esc/batts) you are running as to which gear (1st or 2nd) you will run the truck in?

Wouldn't the motor have to work harder down in low speeds if you were to lock OUT 1st and run only IN 2nd?

Is there any reason you wouldn't just keep the 2speed as it is? Could it be done without worries, or would it just hinder performance?

Is reverse an option at all in this truck?

thanks fellas :)
