O, so most of you are using a single speed so theres an empty spot on the reciever. I see.

How do you tie into the main battery with the 12V fan?

Mike, you have these fans in stock?

I have always heard pulling heat away from the heatsink worked the best.

Pulling heat waway from the heatsink is the goal. It is achieved more effectively by blowing air over the heatsinks vs. a fan pulling air away from it. test this. Perhaps the computer folks know more about bits and bytes than they do about heat dissipation. Test it yourself and let us know the results (though I already know what you will find).


Nitro- I do have the fans. They are wired to the positive and negative leads on the controller(so when the batteries are plugged in, the fan comes on).

Si. On the 12v fans, do they take power away from the motors or no? Also, what if I ran more than 12v to the fan?
On the 5v, is there a way to plug it in even if I'm using all 3 channels? I use an Rx Pack also.

Just hook the 5 volt fan on 1 battery - esc lead. I'm powereing 1 5 volt fan and 1 12 volt fan off 1 battery and it does the trick easy.

I'm not a comp nerd at all, but sucking air away from the cpu is not the way you want to cool thing's. I've done some modding to a few pc's, including putting sweet cpu cooler's on which all blow air on the cpu, not sucking heat away from it. You can alway´s try, but be prepaired for a over heating cpu.

On my 9918's I put dual 25x25mm fans. But 40's work well, too.


BTW, guys. SOME cpu fans suck air away from the heatsink because the manufacturer doesn't want to get dust collected on the fins. It's a trade-off. Blowing is more efficient, no doubt.
