Hey it sounds like you have this down pretty well aquit, so why not just help him out and get him on the road? What may seem easy to one can be a PITA to others, because that particular aspect of the hobby just does not click for him as it does for you. One could say that setting up a jet engine is easy, but if you just do not understand it your sh(& out of luck unless you find someone who knows what it takes and is willing to help.
