EDIT:
You can get 8mm pinion gears at http://www.sdp-si.com
I picked out a nice mod0.5, 8mm bore, 20t gear:

@metalman, how did you get to that HP?

1 HP= 735.499 watt, which means;

1.36XmotorpowerXefficiency= HP

At those high voltages i am sure it is about 90+ percent

so 7KWX.9X1.36=8,5 hp

and the other one is 12.24 hp...

one other note;

you calculate with that .85 efficiency in two directions, to calculate the maxx A of the controller, but that motor takes 7000 watts, the efficiency is about input/output. it normally is about input vs output ;) (never saw it different) so you don't need that 85% efficiency with calculating the amp draw from the esc. if that speedo has got an effiency of 85% it means that at 7000watts it heats up with on the remaining 1050watts.. That is one serious melt down for sure... those BL controllers have got allmost no loss..

Here is what i find out last night; the gigantic E-PODS that power the largest ships in the world.... are.... BRUSHLESS!

But with this new motor, comes a schulze/plettenberg CRUSHING power and an overwelming controller of about a 60200 or so..

@coolhand.. Would you please change your avatar.. I am so confused every time i see it.. ;)

With the power of this BL motors, you sure are able to power your go-cart.. BMW allready did some experiment with electric motors in their cars.. It was mounted directly on the driveshaft, with a kicking 1000 N/m @ 1000 rpm..

Serum, you are right. I wasn't thinking straight (darn school!). For some reason I was thinking that 1hp was almost 1000watts, even though I knew that it was 735watts.
