The kit is very nice quality. lot's of sanding to smooth out the areas from being cut from parts trees, but that was to be expected.

What came today:

The red box unpacked:

and the progress made this evening:

I have come to the realization that I HATE building ball diffs. The thrust bearings were troublesome to put it nicely ;)

I should be able to give it it's first test an tune on Saturday afternoon. all that is left is painting the body, gluing the tires, and assembling the shocks.

waiting for the paint on the body to dry, but took it for a body off run on 2s. This thing is fast! And the tires are not holding up well....

I have the Academy SBV2-Pro, very similar vehicle. It handles like nothing else, but man, the way they fly be careful where you run it :) I had a lady in a toyota prius pull up behind me jus outside my periferal vision. I was making a speed run and by the time I saw the car it was too late, I stuffed it under the back tire so hard she had to back up before I could get the RC free! Hahaha she said it was like some kind of terrorist attack "it just came flying out of no where!"

P.S. I was having problems with the diffs going out, I fixed it with Acer Cermic Nitrile balls and associated diff lube. They take a few runs to seat in, at first they slip a bit because they are so hard, but now they are bulletproof.

If I could only draw what I see in my head, then afford to build it, and finaly get to play with it...

nope. I'm a basher type, and the local tracks practice day is Wednesday, I work. Only race day on Sat and it is a nitro track. I took it to a big dirt field today, will have some video footage up soon. nothing special just slinging a little dirt.

at the track today i helped get a guys zx-5 going, the mamba he had in it puffed after only 2 days, so we put a vxl system he had handy in there, and got it going on a 2s orion 3200 sport lipo, and i was really surprised at how smooth it was, seemed alto better than the mamba did before it cooked, also whats so different about the geometry between the rtr and the kit, of course the kit has the upgrades everywhere but there were 3 kids runing the zx5 rtrs out there and they ran the crap out of them all day long and didnt anyof them break a single part, i was looking into getting my gf one to learn to race with it seems like a good class for her to start with since 3 local kids at the track just started running them too.....
