Compared to the 6s, the 1920/7 will be quite competitive, but you need to readjust the gearing of the truck and probably another cell will not hurt at all, but you'll be truly amazed by the power of the 19 series motors. My 1920/8 motor can make the T4 of mine pull out of my grasp or tear up the carpet its spinning on at 13.2 volts. The carpet in my room smoked out because of the rediculous power the 1920 has.
The name is Alawi. You can call me Al.
Nice to meet you!
Coolhandcountry I totally understand where your coming from and appreciate your input :)
I am compensating for the bigger tyres by gearing down, currently at 14/90 in my T2 which gives it the runtime and acceleration I want, but not the topspeed to really take on the local nitro competition (its topping out about 40mph I think on 7 cells). Increasing the gearing dramatically reduces runtime and hurts the acceleration on this motor.
OK then, crunch time, the 1920 is at this moment in time beyond my budget (because I'm picking up another controller as well). So if I got the Feiago 540 8s, and ran it on 10 cells, it wouldn't overrev (probably about 45-50K under a load, but also very powerful on my current 8 cell batteries?) and would have more power (accel, and top speed) than my current 6s on 7 cells?
Basically if the 8s will make my car go faster on 8/10 cells than my 6s on 7/8 cells, its time to crack the wallet (erm, paypal account) out :)
Yes, the 8s on 8 cells will out perform the 6s on 7 cells with the proper gearing. On 8 good cells, it should handily beat the nitros. On 10 cells, the nitros don't have a chance if you can get some traction.
