Those sound like pretty decent temps to me.

I've been considering cutting out my front window (currently have a nice mesh of small holes drilled). Has anyone tried putting a piece of screen or something across the window to prevent debris from flying into the internals?

I've been a Neu fanatic ever since I made the switch a while back. Cool temps, absolutely awesome torque and some of the best support anywhere. The 1521 I got from Mike throws my Savage around like it's weightless.
