I think a lot has to do with the motor you are running with the MM. The Tekno Neu 1.5 I have I know draws a lot of amps....

Yeah exactly, its just too much for a MM. No fans, caps or ice cubes will be safe for use with the 1.5d, guess the 1515/1y is the max the MM will take reliably. We should have our Monsters soon though
