Many of the high speed set ups use a very large oversized motor to turn tall gearing. If it is for speed runs, go for it.

I've developed a new philosophy when it comes to power setups. If you want something to run cool, it needs to be "over the top" in terms of power capabilities. This way, you accomplish two things: A) a system that isn't near as stressed under normal circumstances as a "lesser" setup, and B) PLENTY of room to step it up when the power/speed bug bites.
