They are all on horizon now with pricing.

http://search.horizonhobby.com/index...d=11BE23513ECA

$189 for the esc only and $334 for the esc/motor combo. Not bad. Might look into testing one. Looks like its designed for racing, nothing more than 5s is needed for racing.

Looks solid from the specs. I cant seem to find dimensions on the esc. Id like to kow how big. it sounds like what I wanted from CC. A MM that supports 5s and a built in switching BEC. If its not much bigger than a MM (it looks like it wont be) it should be a very nice choice for a race setup.

Lutach will be disapointed with only 5s.

looks like from the motor combos and voltage limits they are shooting for motor rpms arond 25,000. Not very high. but most likely very eficient and cool running. Also based on those rpms and the 15T and 16T pionin an45T spur that is suppiled in ther conversion kit they are targeting speeds of only around 35mph. Very tack oriented looking sertup IMO. 35mph is probably not going to satisfy the basher.

Looking forward to seeing how it works out for them. This will certainly mean that the losi guys will have an easy path to the electric side. and I'm gonna bet that the winter racing scene indoors this year is littered with electric Losis. It looks like a total no brainer drop in system. Just buy the losi battery, esc, motor, and conversion kit.

In a way I am disapointed though. Everyone was hoping for a buggy designd from the ground up for electric power, at least thats what I was hoping to see from Losi. This is nothing more than a factory branded conversion kit. Not really different from what has already been available from RCmonster and others for a long time. Good to see the big guys gettting into the game. Still... I think I was hoping for a bigger splash. Still need to buy a nitro roller and toss out the nitro related bits.

I wonder if they have an Eight-E Race Roller planned for the near future, or even an Eight-E RTR.

Motors are 4 pole like the Neu and Plet so the esc should run a Neu just fine.

I read it in one of the spec sheets somewhere on horizon. I cant find it again now. It was the 2nd line of the motor spec right below the 720 motor size spec. I know I'm not crazy... I know I read it somewhere, now I gotta keep searching.

The ESC accepts up to 5S, with all of our testing we have found that 4S is the best all around battery to use.

Wow , never been a Losi fan but i will hand it to them on this one . They are the first to bring out a 5s capable racing esc that actually has mounting tabs / plate

If it runs well and the fan doesn't break this esc will be a hit and for only a bit more than the MMM .

Just blew up the picture of the esc from the Horizon site . It looks like the fan is intergrated into some kind of heatsink which wraps around the esc and this has the mounting tabs attached to it ?
