Sounds like a relatively large motor. Add to the fact that it's 4 poles, and it's probably pretty nasty torque-wise.

Nice. I can't wait to see rotor comparison pictures if anyone takes the dive on at least this motor.

I love the tabs, makes clean neat wiring soooo much better, and You can use what ever color wire You want. The esc looks nice, but to big LOL.

This will be fun to see if its any good! I hope it is

The specs on this thing are pretty nice. Not everything I would want but definitely looks to be a solid controller. If novak does not get on the ball quick, they are destined to be left in the dust. Won't break my heart though.

does anyone know if the chassis is the same part number as the 8ight ?

its going to be alot cheaper to get the race roller, conversion kit (sorry mike) and DIY 8ight-e the only thing that would hold me back would be if a converted version could not be exactly the same as the 8ight-e. in other words, can you convert a 8ight-e to an 8ight ?

I don't know if theyre releasing an electric buggy by itself, I think there is only a conversion kit that works on the 8ight buggy. The link in the OP has a picture and a list of parts, which doesn't include a chassis, so I'm gussing it works on the stock chassis.

So that's just a tad smaller than a 1515 Neu?

Yep, just a tad, so it should have about the same power. Cant speak for quality or efficiency though- only one way to be certain on that...

If the motor is a bit smaller than a 1515 and a bit larger than a 1512, w/the 1700kv on 5s, it should rip!

They got them listed as 670 size motors on Losi now. The motor is 66.8mm long

They have the manuals for the motor and esc up now. The motor manual shows motor efficiency and what-not.



It's amazing how similar the esc software is to Castle Link. I guess it's the sincerest form of flattery. I like the quick programming card option.

It's interesting that you can tell the esc what type of radio you're using.

"Legacy or 2.4GHz – This setting is intended to reflect what type of Radio System you are using, i.e. Transmitter and Receiver.
Default is 2.4GHz because there are many of these systems in use.
If you use a Legacy system, then you can select this setting (27MHz, 40MHz, or 75MHz).
The Electronic Speed Control internal switching rate is increased with the 2.4GHz selection
and may cause interference with Legacy Radio Systems."

I like that the BEC voltage is adjustable:

BEC Voltage: Programmable from 5.2V up to 6.5V at 6A

I am anxious to see if this system is a performer. It certainly looks good on paper.

It does look good on paper. I really like the programmable bec, and that the esc actually mounts to the chassis. Would like to see 6s though.

I got it from a couple reliable sources that the Losi esc is made by hobbywing in china and the esc hardware design is basically a direct copy of the Novak circuts but with sensorless software.

I am not holding out to much hope that this is going to be anything special. Hobbywing is the same people that make all of the other low end stuff for companies like venom, speedpasion, orion. They are a no name company that produces escs and then lables them any way another company wants them. I guess its possible they could be OK, but we wont know for sure untill they are released.

Pretty lame of Losi to use a rip off of Novaks circuit design IMO. If you look at the hobbywing website there is a section for 1/8 car controllers, but no products listed in there yet. I'm sure it wont be long before you can buy the same ESC as the Losi but with a hobbywing sticker on it and save some money.

Has anyone ordered or have plans to order one of these Losi escs? I had one preordered to test, but after finding this out I decided to hold off on spending my money on it. If anyone gets one please let us know how it is. Only a week and a half until its due out.


Not sure on the motor manufacturer yet, probably hobbywing as well, but not really sure.
