What motor to run with MM for crt.5 or LS10?

Its def bigger than an 1/18th. Its really not that far off a 1/10. Its shorter than a rustler wheelbase wise, and a little narrower. Its approx 11"x13". Check out the vids in my sig and you can see it bashing or on the 1/8th track to get an idea of the size.

Its a pretty good basher actually, esp w/ the big mashers. Drives over things like a Jeep. OTOH you can pop on road tires and it handles as good if not better than a 1/8th truggy.

If you want to make it bigger down the road, Mike's kits will make it true 1/10th size.

Everytime I pull the .5 out I get a grin on my face just how fun the little truck is. My rusty has been collecting dust for the last 8 mos lol.

Thanks for the pics, it looks pretty beefy with those tires on it! I bet these things tear up the pavement with anacondas on it.

Do you have another rc you can put it against to help me judge the size? (like your e-revo?)

Thanks, that really helps! I am familiar with the E-revo... I have built two of them over time. (one with novak 6.5 the other with 9920/9xl on 16 cells...was a fun truck!)

II think im going to go for the crt.5 with the rcm conversion to help add the length, then use tires/wheels to get the width I want.

To run those 12mm hexes for the slash tires, did you use traxxas hexes? If so, do they fit the axle tight with no slop? I have some integy adaptors (17mm) for my rustler, and was hoping to get confirmation that the axles are the same size to make sure they dont fit sloppy on the axle. I have lots of 1/8 buggy tires I use on my rustler which I was hoping to transfer to the crt.5.

I bought the truck as a roller and it alraedy had the hexes, but I beleive Traxxas rustler hexes would work.

The crt.5 axles appear to be very close to a rustler axle. You may need to shim it slightly if there is any slack, these work well for that: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXJJ88&P=ML

Well what i was actually worried about was the axle's diameter compared to the inner diameter of the wheel hex itself.

For instance if I try to throw some revo or tmaxx hexes on my rustler, they wont work as the axle is quite few mm's thicker on the revo/maxx than my little rustler. I assume the axles on the crt.5 will be close enough it wont matter (I hope...lol)

I guess I will just wait and see!

Both rustler and crt.5 use 5mm axles... tmaxx uses 6mm IIRC...

Personally I find that 10th scale truck tires are plenty big on the crt.5 and I still run the 10th buggy tires on the smooth clay track.

Of course 2.2 tires are big enough, BUT bigger is better :) Masher are 4.9 and like 2.4 wide...the tires I have (ofna blazer sst tires) are something like 5.25 and 2.2 wide. They are a block/pin pattern (in between holeshots and gladiators I guess you could say). They look like a beefed up 1/8 tire (taller/wider).

Hopefully the extended/widened crt.5 can handle these ok. If not I will just run my 1/8 buggy tires/wheels and my standard size 2.2's.

If you drive hard and jump big you won't want anything bigger than a 4" 2.2 truck tire. The larger the tire you put on the crt.5 the more leverage you put on the arms, hubs, knuckles, steering rack, and wheel bearings. The strength of the parts in the crt.5 were designed around 2.2 buggy wheels.

If you just want something that looks cool or mows over tall grass thent he big tires will work. If you like to drive the track then 2.2 trucks will be plenty big.

That's why you get multiple sets of tires lol. The mashers are great to go hard offroading and climbing. I have 1/10 buggy tires for the street for low slung handling and high spd fun.

The bearings, hubs and rack are no smaller than the ones on the rustler. I wouldn't go extreme jumping with the mashers tho. Does give some extra cushon tho on the more reasonable jumps.

The .5 has 12mm hexes which fit the TRX wheels perfectly, but the TRX hexes don't fit so well on the .5. The .5 hexes are ~10mm thick where the TRX hexes are about 5mm. The wheel won't bolt up tight w/o shims. I used to have a bunch of thicker hexes from my RPM wheels I bought for the rustler, but they are all missing now.

Ya I should have few of those extra thicker RPM hexes.

I am a tire FIEND! I love tires..so dont worry I already have a few sets planned out lol. I will have some road hawg I buggy tires for high speed runs/street play, and then all the buggy/truggy tires for offroad as well as a few sets of 2.2 for onroad/offroad and track.

I think I have more fun buying/changing tires on my RC's than driving them :)
