Quick motor question - 09.01.2008, 04:47 PM

Ok, so I might be building up a revo. Would be for the track, thats all the details I give

I need to make 15-20 min run times, and have a mandatory batt swap. Thats the rules

I want to go light, but dont want to be pushing runtime, 15 mins is max I can go till I have to swap batts, So a little longer then 15 is good

Heres the question, for racing, I dont need power, I just want to run 5, or 6s to be efficient, I dont want crazy power though, needs to be controllable. So im looking at running a NEU 1515 2.5D for 5s, 1.5Y for 6s

Any comments on this? I dont want crazy power, just want runtime. What batts should I run? What motor should I run?

you really cant say " Neu 1515" "6s" and "I dont want crazy power" in the same sentence :D

LOL yeah thats true

I just want to make 15 mins, on the smallest lightest lipos. But if its going to be crazy power no matter what on 6s, maybe I will do the 6s for playing around, 4, or 5 for racing? I dont need a over powered track car, just something that is super efficient

Get enough pictures of words and you would never have to type again... but your posts would look like a ransom note

haha wow

So you think run a 5s motor on 6 for bashing, 5 for racing? Why not a 6s motor, not enough power? Or what?

6s would be fine for racing just lower the mah on the pack to avoid getting it heavy.

However running 6s for racing giving you limited options to increase for bashing...

1.5Y on 6s = 1Y on 4s btw. Plus, Y is slightly more efficient than D. For 6s pack get 3500 mah cells and you should be just fine.
