I personally think there are a few issues:

1: People running 6s setups AND high KV motors AND geared too high. That combination pulls too much current on startup.

2: The BEC is too prone to problems. While they're designing it, they should also add some catastrophic failure circuit to the BEC output. Would still cause the ESC to fail, but at least your servo(s) and receiver would be saved.

3: Case is a poor design. IC/parts contact the bottom, throttle/switch wires could be chafed on the case, and (on V2) the bullet connectors are much too close to the heatsink. Also, if they insist on leaving the fan, allow it to be replaced without having to take the case apart.

These have been problems since V1 that should have been addressed on the V2. I really wish they could get the int bec working right. Since I've had to add a ccbec I've once again had to plug it into the bat/bind plug on my 3100 rec and now I'm losing bind when I shut it off.

All of this is taking the fun out of the hobby for me. I just want to run my Savage.....is that too much to ask?

I think if you switch the CCBEC plug from the bat/bind slot to the aux slot it might fix the problem with having to re-bind. it did for me, and is listed on castle's CCBEC page.

I can't. I'm using mechanical brakes and have to use the aux slot for my brake servo. I think I'm just going to ditch the CCBEC for a receiver pack, and I hate receiver packs! It's either that or order the SportBEC from Mike. I love how you can plug the esc into the bec!
