With the Neu 1512, 3200Kv, in my slash, i'll use a 58T Jato spur with a 13T pinion, with proline badlands tire (4.8"), and i'll have (theorically) the same speed that i had with my feigao 10L, geared 54T/17T.
But i'am sure that the efficiency and heat will be different.

Another question, maybe for BrianG or other guys here, what does mean the Max Amps in the motor description. For exemple, for the Neu 1512, 1.5d, it's 135A.
For a 1512, 2.5d, it's 78A.
For a Feigao 10L, it's 61A.

I think that's the max current that the motor can support, but not sure.

Thank you!

Usually, each motor series has a rated max power value. Motors also have a max rpm. Then, each wind has a different kv value.

So, let's say a motor is rated for 1,000w, max rpm of 50,000, and a kv of 2000:
Voltage to get max rpm = maxrpm/kv = 50,000/2,000 = 25v
Current (using ohms law) = power / voltage = 1,000/25 = 40A.

On a 1512/2.5d (60k max rpm, 2050kv, 2000w surge power): Max v = 29.26v. Max A = 67.6A. But, they probably round down the voltage to a common lipo value, so the voltage becomes 7s (25.9). Max A then becomes 77.2A, which is pretty darn close to their spec'd 78A.

That's the only way I can think of that they come up with their numbers...

Without plugging the number into Artur's motor program a quick guess would be that those listed currents represent peak efficiency, where exceeding that number results in rapidly-decreasing efficiency ratings. Yay/nay?

No idea - could very well be so. But without the program, it's hard to verify that that's what they are doing...

OK BrianG, so let me know something. I've order a 1512 1.5d, 3200Kv, with a Max curent of 135A. I'll use it on 11.1volts. If i consider a gearing of about 40m/h, is this motor will pull more amps from my li-po than if i would have take a 1509, 2d, 3300Kv, 95A, for a same gearing

And what about heat and efficiancy???

Too bad, just see that i can't put a Neu motor in the stock slash tranny, Neu motor have a diameter of 40mm (smooth can) and Feigao have 36mm
The only way to put a Neu is to order the RCM FLM alloy tranny case...........................And that's what i just did

The only problem is that the rear bumper will not fit anymore

No. The FINNED can neu is 40mm. You'll be fine with the smooth can at 36mm.

No.... the SMOOTH can Neu is 40mm. The finned can is even bigger. Feigao and Lehner are 36mm.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...
