I met a person who has the Losi 8ight-E, he is using Losi's 4s lipo. He says the only problem he has is the motor (2100kv) is getting to hot, temps are lipo and ESC are in the low 100's, and motor 170-180. However stock gears are 16/45, per Losi's instructions for a 2100kv motor and 4s he should be running 14t pinion.
It's weird that Losi puts a 16t for there race roller, but in there instructions you should be running a 14t with the 2100kv when using a 4s. He will be running it tonight with different pinions hopefully he will get better temps, but so far he does not have any problems.
When Losi was first testing 8ight-E at Revelation Raceway, at one point the fan on the ESC fell off, but they kept using it and didn't have any problems (torcher testing). Then again it was a pro driver who was behind the wheel.

Losi said it is fine to run the 16T on a large track but go down to a 14T for small tracks
