If possible when you send the Monster in, put a note in it for them to send it straight to Mike. I am curious to see what failed. We have been pushing these things in some really extreme setups for the last couple of weeks with no failures. (other then broken cars from driver failure :) )

can a mod please change the title of this thread to "I killed it"......I would say its my fault also but you would think if the esc only got to 170deg. that it should have lived?

We only let him drive when he holds that "I'm the owner of the company" thing over our head. We did figure out that doing 60+mph speed runs in a small parking lot full of cars is kinda stupid. I have had to replace the front end on our RC8 conversion 3 times in the last couple of weeks.

Not sure how you was getting the temp readings, but if you was reading 170 outside the case it was probably way over that for actual temp. Still should not have failed for that reason though. I would guess the overstressed batteries were more the factor then anything else. Send it in and I'll figure out what failed on it and get you fixed back up.

well I'm making an attempt to see if the wires are pinched....I took off the bottom label sticker and there is an oily rust colored residue seeping from the seams of the esc....but I still cant figure how to get it to pop open ....I dont want to break anything

take a look...see the oil droplets on the cover and the inside of the case has like a sandy gritty substance...you can see it good on the wires where they run out the case

It looks like sand/water found its way in through the various small gaps in the case. No ESC I can think of will be immune to this unless the circuit is encased in a watertight box, or maybe a epoxy blob...

Till i saw the inside of the case, I was wondering and still wondering. The bold and underlined part makes me wonder, whats the theorettical RPM of the mamba monster on 2 pole motors? The RPM shown would be 117,328 RPM's as seen by the esc due to being on a 4 pole Neu. I am wondering what the RPM or phase shifts the esc can handle. I hope thats understandable

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

Good point crazy.

Of course the inside of the case looks like someone sniffed sand then sneezed into it which is probably the failure.

I just got back after a long hard run in the park today and the V2 with updated firmware hung in all the way. Someone was nice enough to leave me 8 mounds of dirt/rock mix all next to each other to jump so it was fun to say the least. The fan would come on but when the truck stopped it shut down every time in less than 10 seconds.
