here is my problem i opened up my v2.5 to put the new case on it and the fan was already cracked. what do i do about this? and on my other v2 i finally opened it after 1 race day and the fan wires are completely stripped. the fan wires are a issue just like castle's QC with the bullits touching the heatsinks. 30 seconds to make sure they dont touch.

I can definitely agree with the non-open policy, but it would be nice if they make a cutout on the PCB with smooth edges for the wire to be routed through. Will CC warranty a MMM that has been carefully opened (to the point they can't notice that it's been opened until they see the mod) that has heatshrink on the wire?
All I ever wanted was an honest weeks pay for an honest days work.

By the sound of Patrick's post if you did not damage the esc by opening it you will be fine. If it looks like you used a shop press to get the case off the warranty is void. They are just stating that it is up to them to decide. CC are a good company and will honor the warranty if it is applicable to the problem.

Ahh, OK. They are definitely great when it comes to repairs, I sent in my 1st Mamba Max because it started pouring smoke out (this happened shortly after it went for a drink in a drainage ditch ) and they replaced it for free!

Yes, but did you tell them that it went into a drainage ditch?
I wouldn't be surprised if the MM warranty gets void if used in 1/8 scale as most other 1/10 ESC's on the market do

OK, you leave the case closed....the fan or a fan blade breaks. Send in my MMM for a fan replacement? They will be busy at CC. If they didn't want us to open the case, they shouldn't have put the fan connector inside the case.

I don't really think that is for you to worry about.. they can build however they want. When/if it fails.. You send it in and get it fixed. It's pretty basic, and they have gone above and beyond in taking care of the issues.
If you look at MOST electronics, if not all, there are Warranty stickers on the seals of them.. stating "Warranty Void" if broken. They don;t want consumers toying in the stuff.
Do you crack open your Home Theater receiver to look for defects and fix/mod it? Probably not.
Just leave it alone... If it fries the fan due to the fan wires, then it's on them to fix. Everything else.. if it fries something due to the failure.. Talk to Castle and work with them.
Getting pissed because they are starting to push a normal policy.. is a bit silly.

We should all be thankful Caslte has a one year warranty on these items and they support them as they do. If you ask me thats a huge premium over the competition. Most manufactures only offer 3 months on these types of elecontric devices. That in itself is worth paying more for the item. But we dont pay more, we get this stuff at a huge premium over the competition. Some of you guys might get 200 uses out of your MMM before the year is up and then complain that it broke. We need to give these guys a lot of slack for what they are doing and be thankful.
They must have huge costs looking at these items everyone is trying to "fix". Run it, beat it, use it, but dont fix it. 99% of the people have no business trying to add caps, solder stuff on boards, or do anything else. Most of the hard core RCM members yes, but all the newbies that see this stuff pulling out their pry bars need to think twice. If it breaks just send it in and they will take care of it. They made it so simple for us and you have a whole year to do it.

If there was not something wrong with the case design, we would not be having this thread. Move the fan to the outside, or better yet remove the fan completely from the design!

Yes remove the fan to completely get rid of active cooling. and there is a reason that they re designed the case... maybe to fix the problem.. Its common sense not to cram a screwdriver into the control board, if you have one and are complaining you should have a different esc.
