wich Motor for Hyper 7 Conversion? - 11.14.2008, 05:41 PM

hi,

wich motor is good for a hyper 7 conversion with a mmm and 6s2p a123 cells?

i think 1700rpm/v is a good choice.
will a xl give a shorter runtime than a l?

None of those motors are good enough IMO to run, Feigao on 5s will run hot, those are the same if not lower quality.. i would looks into at least a feigao or a nicer motor like a medusa

My vote is this one for 5s.....

or if money is a bigger concern, this one...

The Neu is a better motor, but the Medusa is also very good and a bit cheaper...in motors, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR

1. MBX-6 T8 1900KV, RX8 ON 4S
2. MBX-5T 1520, MMM ON 5S
3. MBX-5 ONROAD CONVERSION 1515, MMM ON 5S
4. MRX-3 ON ROAD CONVERSION 1512, MMM ON 6S
5. TEN T 2650 T8, MMP ON 3S

+1.

If you don't get Linc's motor, go for the 60mm Medusa. I'm dropping a 70mm in mine because I'm a crazy bastard that likes everything overpowered but I've heard anything more than a 60mm Medusa or Neu 1512 is a waste in a Buggy. For a Feigao or other cheap China motor a 14L on 6s should be OK if you gear down. I've got a 6XL in my Hyper 7 until my 70mm Medusa comes in and it seems to do pretty well.

ok, the neu motor is too expensive for me :(

i think i will go with a bidproducts motor.

another question, is is recommended to put 2 a123 packs with 950g in a buggy?
i think this is really heava for it, but i wanna use a123 for the fast charging times.

If you're racing, I wouldn't do it. If you're just bashing it should be fine but it'll probably handle weird.

A Truggy will require a bigger, more powerful motor requiring larger, heavier, and more powerful lipos. I would stick to the Hyper, myself. If you must have A123s then hopefully you only run 5 and 10 minute races (I'd guess each A123 pack would last roughly 5 minutes of racing before the voltage drop, and if you get good at swapping batteries you should be able to do it in 20 seconds). A 5000 mAH or so lipo would be a good alternative IMO.

I've never raced, so I don't know exact run times but it is much tougher on packs than bashing. For 15-20 minute run times you're looking at a pretty decent sized lipo. With 2 A123 packs you could probably adapt your driving style to compensate for the added weight but I can't say for sure that they will run you 15-20 minutes.
