They built it because they could I reckon.

I agree that something around 3k kv would be more useful.

3s lipo and low gearing would make for an interesting speed car. My tt-01 has limited gearing options, so high revving motor would be nice. And I have a MM and a 5000 3s 25c neu lipo too... Hmmm may have to give that motor a try. Wonder what they have changed over the old cs 36 motors?

I am thinking this is a good motor for the MMM. My 7700 on an MM gets pretty toasty both motor and speed control. I have had to gear down quite a bit on my truck just to get it to work. Now a 3500 on 3S is so much cooler. It will be interesting to see what the application for it will be and what speed controller they recommend.

I will say that most people who have hot escs with the higher kv motors can most likely blame the batteries. No nimh will ever be able to keep up. If I were to run something like this, a polyquest 6000 25c 2s lipo would be the minimum I would use... Od a pair of 3700 2s packs in parallel.

I have a hacker b50 5s motor that I plan to try with 3s lipo. I will use a mm with a fan (due to lack of air movement in the body), and most likely run a ubec and some addl caps...

Maybe it was a proof of concept for high revving motors. I know they have changed the rotor design.

They played with a few concepts. I am not sure if they settled on a carbon wrapped or aluminum framed version, but once their large scale motors are out the small scale ones with updates should come in too. Evidently once they started getting over 85k there wasn't a glue in the world that would hold the magnets without structural assistance.

A Sidewinder 4600 on 3S is more than enough for the TT-01 with 22/58 gearing.

E-Maxx - Feigao 7XL MM 4S

To do what? I have currently done 74mph with a feigao 6s motor, 3s lipo and 25/55 gearing. That is the highest gearing I can achieve without making some custom stuff. I would like to see what I can do with the stock motor mount and spur before I get into modding stuff.

I think that motors with large KV like this are made for 1/12 scale since they only run on like 4 - 5 cell Nimh
