3R goes for between $300-320 and the 3S is about $75 cheaper I think

Got my 3s for $229 + shipping Comes with the telemetry RX and a smaller sport RX (no telemetry). I like the grip on the 3S better than the 3R I also use occasionally. I don't notice the difference in DSM/2 either. I am a basher.

I'll keep my DX3R! I'll never outgrow a 30 model memory. I'm done with junk motors and I'm not asking for crazy speeds, so heat really isn't an issue.
