Brushless motors do not need a break in.
The fact that you ran the motor without any resistance for a minute means you might have caused this.
The fact that the temp went up to 160 in that small amount of time leads me to beleive this.
Never run the motor (unless for a few seconds to test out the tire rotation) without it being on the ground, tires and all.
These motors are designed to be running with resistance ALWAYS. Even the manufacturers of the motors will tell you this.
If you previously got away with these same procedures using the Neu, it was just lucky.
Besides NiTrO... Break-in is just for brushed motors. This is to seat the brushes properly, but since we are running brushless motors now, you must skip this step.
