Including a proof of purchase when claiming warranty is highly recommended. Without we have no way of knowing when you actually purchased the product. Sometimes we have ways of telling how old the controller is, and if we can verify it was not made more than a year ago, we will usually consider it within one year; but there is no guarantee without the receipt.

There are of course other factors when it comes to warranty, not just the proof of purchase. Here is a direct quote from the repair page on our website:

WARRANTY IS VOIDED BY
  • Using controller outside of its intended performance specification (running outside of MAX voltage/current, gearing, or wrong application/vehicle).
  • Physical damage including crash, or water submersion.
  • Modification of controller such as soldering on controller, gluing items on the controller, potting the controller, etc. There are no user-serviceable parts on these controllers, we do not recommend attempts to repair or solder on the board.
Note: warranty is for original purchaser of the product only. Warranty is non-transferable.

So unfortunately if you purchased it from a friend, we generally do not accept it as a warranty. We can make exceptions in certain cases, but unfortunately there is no guarantee.

*Insert witty response here*

But seriously, put the remains in 2 or 3 plastic baggies and send it off with $50 and we'll ship you a brand new Mamba Max

That is one of the ways we use to identify the controller, we can also tell based on the hardware. We make changes from time to time on the design of the boards, so if the design wasn't around a year ago or the controller wasn't made more than a year ago, it's hard to buy it

Luckily that wouldn't be a problem, we do it all of the time

You'd be surprised as to what we get back sometimes, literally a bag filled with some ash, a lightly toasted heat sink and some little round things that resemble charred tootsie rolls that used to be capacitors; it goes great on a piece of whole wheat toast and strawberry jam!

As long as we can identify what it used to be, we'll replace it no questions asked for the flat repair fee. You could literally find it in the gutter on the side of the road, send it to us and we'll repair or replace it for the flat fee. We don't ask questions, because sometimes we simply don't want to know...or the person is too ashamed to admit why it burned up. *cough* reverse polarity *cough* But those things happen even to the best of us, so we repair or replace controllers for the flat fee no matter how old, what condition or mistakes were made.

And the flat repair fee includes the repair or replacement of the product and the shipping back to you; and truly is a flat fee, never less, never more.

CC are great. I roasted a mamba 25 once, all I could send them were the half cooked battery and motor leads. They got me a new one, no questions asked! Great service from a great company! About the toast thing...thats kinda funny!
