@mmdooley, it is ground to the - pole of the battery. the entire chassis (if connencted somehow to the motor)

Yes, Serum. And when you use the stock tranny case and stock motor plate, the motor woulb be insulated from the chassis.

Which makes it possible to get charged.. i think that is the reason for the wire.. Statical electricity....
