now from what it seem al the 40 series wheels are roughly half offset prolly due to how wide the tires are... so take your pic from that page

thanks for the reply, but they dont say 1/2 offset. Wheels that have 1/2 offset should say it in the title.

I dont think they are- the description leads me to believe they are standard maxx (old maxx at that) size rims, just with the more durable 23mm hex. They do sell pre-mounted stuff too though, or look at the GRP stuff.

Judging by what i have seen, am i right in thinking that you cannot get 40-series rims with 1/2 offset?

Pass. Like I said, there are so many options these days for tyres and rims it just confuses the hell out of me. I know the exchange rate isnt great right now, but we do still get ~$1.40 for every £1, so its not that bad really- concidering UK prices it is still possible to import stuff and save money, or at the very least not loose out compared to buying from a UK shop/ online store; whatever the USA $ price is, swap the $ for a £ and thats about the price it is/ way it works out, so importing aint that bad, just gotta hunt out the bargains on the larger stores like tower or amain etc.

There is always ebay however, or the old wheeler-dealer-pirate-importer-ask an American buddie to buy it for you and mark the value lower then send them the money- method of getting goods from overseas... (works for me )...

You can judge how deep the hex is by looking at the photos of the backs of the rims. Normal maxx rims have no offset, so the hex is quite deep into the rim, almost inline with the inside of the front face if you will, where as the offset stuff sticks out like a volcano (you know what I mean). Same applies to some of the 40 series- just look at that link and you will see which rims are ofset and which arent.

I knew that , but going by that the axial wheels look to have the most offset. I have two sets of proline 40 series wheels and they are more offset than my traxxas and hpi 3.2 rims, and my 1/2 offset maxximizers are only a little wider than the 40 series prolines. If I had to guess the 40 series prolines give 1/4" of offset. JUST A GUESS!!

if you havent bought tires yet....go with the losi super bolt on's....they have the best traction for bigger tires. in fact, they are one of the top 3 best all around tires in my opinion, next to badlands, losi zombie max, and the proline mulchers.
and you really dont need 23 or even 17mm hex in my opinion, 14 is plenty strong. just make sure the wheel nut is always tight.

the only reason i'm getting new wheels/tires is because all my stock rims which are 14mm hexes cracked lol. im pretty certain i need 17 or possibly 23mm
