Mmm... are those plastic spurs really 32 pitch? For example this 49t? It says in the tech notes that it's 32 pitch though it looks more like mod1 to my eye.

All mgt spurs are mod1, tower's info is not correct.

I have done the mod to run the MGT spurs on a revo slipper, it's not hard but it still limits your gearing choices. I have been running the stock 32 pitch gears on my E-REVO for almost a year now and haven't stripped a gear yet. There are plenty of 32p spur gears to choose from so 1 pinion gear and you have almost a 10MPH range you can gear for by changing the spurs that only cost $3

Well, on mgt spurs you have 52,50,49,48 and 46... Plus you can go down to the 36,38,and 40t revo spurs if you run certain size pinions... Seems like plenty of choice to me. I do have 300 bucks worth of mod1 pinions though... Must have 2 or 3 in each size, some hardened and some not... Small parts like this can really add up to some serious cash, so I understand if you do not have 30 cars to use them on it is good to have cheap alternatives for gearing.

Personally I use BG's speed calc and pick my gearing that way... Always works for me!
