I wonder if Mike will be stocking these case/fan combos? Maybe he could get a bunch of just fans to help keep the price lower (besides, I can see more fans going bad than cases). Of course, you could use an aftermarket fan, but the CC fan has the proper connector on it.

I am using the Traxxas bracket that comes on the E Revo. The one thing I think may be a possibility is that the hold down is wrenched down too tight. I was only able to use one side to mount it and then have strong velcro underneath. That was my first thought and then when I loosened it all the way up it did not help. My thought was it may have pinched or crimped it a little due to only tightening one side. The fan did work after manipulating the switch on/off about 3 out of 5 times today when testing it on initial start up.

I understand your stand and that irritates me as well when people take advantage of a company or anything for that matter. The fan works intermittently. Any idea what may be the cause? I am using the Traxxas hold down bracket that is made for it. Would it be possible for you to send me the directions on how to open the case? It may just be a connection and I am confident I will be able to do the work I just would like a little direction.

You can see in this picture what I was referencing in regards to the bracket. I wanted to use it for the switch mount and a extra holding point on the ESC. The ESC is not going anywhere with the one screw and the velcro underneath. I also have two layers of padding underneath the ESC to absorb some shock.

The fan wire is routed from the fan (duh) around the main power PCB to the bottom brains board. Sometimes, the wires can chafe against the main PCB and cause partial breakage. Or could be the connector is not fully inserted. Or could be the fan is simply on its way out (dirty bearings, etc).

When/if you get the "official" directions on how to open the case, post the email and I'll create a new thread and make it a sticky. Most of us have opened the case without incident, but the little tabs are fragile and can snap fairly easily. I know the instructions for doing this has already been posted here somewhere, but I'm too lazy to go looking for it right now. IIRC, it was posted by a CC tech/rep.

I will do that Brian. Dirty bearings is out of the question being this ESC is new and has not been ran off road as of yet. I am hoping it is just that the plug for the fan is not fully seated.
