Inferno GT Brushless Neu 1527 - 03.10.2009, 07:43 PM

Yes, I have tested my Kyosho Inferno Buggy as a GT car....

I have changed suspension, all of it, Ofna belted tires, locked center diff, many many hours thinking about suspension setup.....

The was Built to run againt other nitrous cars, its was on a nitght between dragrace rounds (real cars), very narrow place with a lot of people.....

The result: With a 120mph calculated final speed, it was toooo fast.......one Revo 3.3 owner got bad about losing so many times then he tried crash my car.....so be it......he didnt know under de ferrari body was a carbon stupid car.....revo down.........a very uglu side crash made a tire go to the sky....even a megatech dragster was there but the guy never attempted even start the engine when I came in.......

photos

results after 12-15 runs.......mgm esc stoped running foward......and twice lost brakes, so, some people got some injuries.......

The setup:

MGM 160A Esc
2 x 3s Neu 5000mah 25/50C Lipos
1527 1D Motor

As I told before, I lost mgm esc and the lipos a few time after....

120mph was the calculated final speed, i never got a chance to take a speed test....

It was FAST.......

I assembled friday night, didnt sleep until the car was finished, saturday I was on my drag car and at night I run the Inferno GT on the pits.....

The Setup IS NOT RIGHT ok, Every time I run this setup something was burned......It was stupid on acceleration, FAST FAST FAST......but to make it RIGHT I must switch the motor to a 1527 1.5D...1500kv.....it would be the best setup with that parts.....

I think you will need to gear the hell out of it to get to pull the amps were it would be running efficiently. I was going to run the 1D in my G3R but it would need to be pulling about 150A constant to be efficient. Have you thought about the 1521 1Y?? It has similar KV is lighter, will run much more efficiently and produce similar amounts of power and torque. Talk to Andrew at fastelectrics.com He was very helpful on the subject.

I told him that I run a 1521/1Y in one of my truggy's with 5S and 6S. It's a great motor for a heavy vehicle. I recommended that a 1515 would be more then enough for the on-road 1/8 scale. My BPP truggy for example is geared for 34mph, but the last run I did with it on 5S got me to 46mph with tire ballooning. He can get his on-road much faster, but it won't be fun at all. All he needs to do is get a 1515/2.5D or 1515/1.5Y and gear it for 50mph if speed is what he's looking for.

Castle creations are making a kit that will convert this to electric, but all you really need to do is purchase one of the motor mounts from mike and a battery tray. I am about to convert mine. I will be usning the kit so that i can run a battery on each side of the car and a mechanical brake setup. From cad pictures of the CC kit i dont think i will need all the parts

Since this is a Inferno GT Post I thought I'd ask here I have a Brushless Inferno GT (Subie STI) that has a 777 Center Diff 46 tooth spur 300k silicone in it and 18 tooth Pinion CC Mamba Monster Max and CC/Neu 2200kv motor rest of drivetrain is stock the car is a tank I have not broken it yet I am running 5000mah 25c 5s battery My Problem is I am annhilating tires I have tried on road hard tires and they last 2-3 runs tried some heavy offroad tires and they lasted a little longer but they blew up too tried some pro line crimefighter again just to see and they didn't last very long at all I asked at my Hobby Shop about the Ofna belted tires and they said they were not very good so I have been looking at doing a conversion to fit 1/5th scale touring car tires to it and see if they last any better. Just for info on how I mount the tires I glue them them both on the inside and outside. this is my speed car straight down the road high speed runs try to avoid donuts as this ruins the tires faster. Any insight would be Greatly appreciated I am going tomorrow to see how much work and money is needed to do the 1/5 scale tires want to avoid this as they are wider and will look weird on the car. Thanks

The best and only tire I will ever use on a IGT is OFNA belted tires, BELTED,

its a little more expensive but there is grip enough to glue the IGT over 60-70mph.....IMO......
