If you look carefully enough, you'll find a Truggy for 100 bucks sometime. (Used of course, but it doesn't mean it's bad)
Then you could buy like Linc said a MMM 2200kv combo, and run on your 5S/buy Zippy's

Or you could do this:
Buy a new truggy, sell the nitro stuff. Buy a supersimple ESC from hobbycity + some cheap motor + your 5S LiPo or some cheap Zippys.

Or:
Used truggy (100$), Supersimple 100A ESC (30$), Cheap brushless motor (50$), your own radio, own 5S LiPo.

As you see the last one is the cheapest

Good decision not to skimp on your electronics....your game plan sounds good as well.

you can get a 8ight-t 1.0 roller for 450 at https://www.ssl-stormerhobbies.com/c...ns&pn=LOSA0802 [/URL] idk if you would want the 1.0 or 2.0, but both are great cars. the 1.0 will be cheaper, but if you do want it then youll have to be fast about it b/c losi has stopped making it. and alot of people in the truggy forum use mmm's so that shouldnt be a problem i highly recomend the 8ight-t itll be a great a choice

Well I found a MMM combo for 250, I also found a roller for 220... So now I need a Motor mount, Pinion ( What tooth?, Not sure on the spur probably stock), Battery box? Or just velcro it down on the chassis, I also need a cheap servo.
Well wich mount is for the 8ight-t this?

You cant just go buy any old 5000 2s lipo. it needs to be the same as the 3s lipo you plan to run it with. Mixing and matching packs like that is certain disaster.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...
