Ya, that was quite a while ago. Time really flies.
I ended up buying another crt.5 and then sold it so I could get a RC10 T4

I really think they need a 12 step program for RC

You have a good point about crawlers. It's a must to have a good motor though. I'm sure a HV or purple feigao motor will have cogging issues.

The 2pole feigaos will lack low end torque. I am using 8+ pole outrunners, between 800-1100kv on 3s lipo and they work very well with the castle escs. I also run a 13.5 novak motor on 2s in a "rock racer" and it has enough control and torque to make it crawler capable. I have a sp 17.5 that I would like to try, but I think the speed may be a bit low. Also have a new hacker 13.5 e40 motor, pretty!

Now I would like to see a decent sensored esc with 3s+ capability in a small footprint capable of 60-80amps cont. And some purpose built sealed can outrunners with high qual materials and a sensor too. Run them sensored only and they would be the ultimate in slow speed control and low speed torque.

sorry to get off topic but

your answer is the tekin RS run an external bec and cap and they are great on 3s and 4s.....ive been running mine in my T4 and slash on multiple different motors (8.5 sensored-2s, 10.5 sensored 2and 3s, and feagio 9l - 2 and 3s) it is an amazing litte (actually tiny) ESC, ive enjoyed it so much in the past month i bought another last weekend the tekin redline sensored motors are also great (had 8.5 on 2s geared for 40mph in a t4 and ran two 5000 packs back to back (40 solid mintues on the track) and the esc had 4 lights out of 7 and the motor was 141

Hmm, I wonder if it has a good drag brake? I am guessing the hotwire interface would be required to set that? I am not all that up to date on the tekin stuff, maybe I need to do some reading!

The Tekin RS ESC's are very nice. They seem over engineered so they can handle more than what they are rated for. You should be able to change the drag brake settings without the hotwire.

I have an FX-R and the programming works the same via remote as the other tekin ESC's. It is very simple to do and there is a set of LED's on the front of the ESC which make it quite simple to see where you are at in the programming. This is a very nice feature for sure. The drag brake for mine with a brushed motor is very nice.
